Cobblestone Mat is a super fun table runner to make. The design consists of just squares and rectangles, and it’s beginner-friendly. You can choose five coordinating or contrasting fabrics to use. This table runner is a great afternoon piecing project. Table runners make excellent gifts.
Pattern Features
- Quick and easy table runner, with step-by-step, detailed instructions and diagrams
- Fat quarter-friendly project
- Easily add more blocks to make the table runner larger
- Full colour pattern.
- Blank drawings to plan your colours.
Requirements
- Five coordinating (or contrasting) fat quarters. You will cut an equal number of pieces from each fat quarter. You will have enough of the fat quarter fabric left, should you wish to create a scrappy binding.
- ¼ yard of binding fabric.
- ½ yard of fabric for the backing.
- 17″ x 38″ piece of batting.
- General sewing and quilting supplies (i.e. rotary cutter, mat, sewing machine, piecing thread).

from 565 reviewsLove the simplicity, but enjoy how it looks detailed.
I have NOT yet made this quilt, but I did read through the instructions. They are clear and well-illustrated. I think it will be fairly simple to do, provided I can keep from stretching those bias edges!
I received the pattern. Thank you! I have not made this yet but looking through the pattern, it seems easy to follow and I love all the step-by-step photos. I look forward to making this quilt in the near future.
Looking forward to making it.
Unfortunately recovering from thumb/wrist surgery so no quilting for awhile but I look forward to using it in the future.

Well designed sewing activity project organizer and planner.
I have so many hankies and this quilt looks like a lot of fun to make. I have been cleaning out my sewing/craft room and hope to start on this in a month or so. Thanks for the neat pattern.
I can’t bring my heavy machine, so I was very glad that there was the option to rent a machine.

This track helped very much in keeping my Gifting for 2026 organized. The tracker is very comprehensive. The only page I would love to see added is a "Where did I hide it" page.
It's an adorable baby quilt pattern, havent made yet, but I will.
I love the scrappy, cozy feel of this pattern.
