Finished size: 16″ square
Skill Level: Confident Beginner
Techniques: Paper piecing, pieced borders
Format: PDF file [5 pages]
Pumpkin Topiary is a fun and EASY paper-pieced project that’s perfect for the beginner as there are no seams to match. The finished mini quilt can be used as a wall hanging or a table topper.
It’s perfect for the Halloween and Thanksgiving seasons. Use a wide-variety of orange fabrics to create the pumpkin bodies. Fabrics with small prints or those that “read as solids” will work best for the pumpkins.
Requirements:
- Various strips of orange fabrics for the pumpkin bodies.
- 4″ squares of yellow and green for the moon and top hat, respectively.
- One fat eighth for the background.
- One fat eighth for the inner border.
- One fat quarter for the outer border and binding.
- 18″ square of fabric for the back.
- 18″ square of batting.
- General paper piecing and quilting supplies (i.e. rotary cutter, mat, sewing machine, piecing thread, foundation papers, etc.)

Well designed sewing activity project organizer and planner.
I have so many hankies and this quilt looks like a lot of fun to make. I have been cleaning out my sewing/craft room and hope to start on this in a month or so. Thanks for the neat pattern.
I can’t bring my heavy machine, so I was very glad that there was the option to rent a machine.

This track helped very much in keeping my Gifting for 2026 organized. The tracker is very comprehensive. The only page I would love to see added is a "Where did I hide it" page.
It's an adorable baby quilt pattern, havent made yet, but I will.
I love the scrappy, cozy feel of this pattern.
I really love that you share the patterns. I haven’t had a chance to start sewing yet, but looking forward to when I do.
I can’t wait to try this pattern. It looks stunning, but seems quite doable!
So in the past, I have had bound planners to keep track of projects. While those are great, they don’t have the ability to arrange and be flexible in how they are arrranged. With the pdf planner, I can print extras of the pages I need, put them in the order I choose, and generally write and rewrite to my heart’s content! I love this planner so far, and I an excited to keep returning to it throughout the year.
